NIAB glasshouse facilities
Our modern glasshouse facilities at Cambridge and East Malling are designed to reflect commercial-scale operations, this allows us to work closely with clients to design and execute glasshouse trials that meet specific research goals.
- Over 2,800m² of specialised glasshouse and plant growth facilities, including spore-proof growth rooms, containment and vernalisation areas
- Environmentally controlled glasshouses equipped with various automatic irrigation systems, including misting, drip, hand watering and ebb and flow setups
- State-of-the-art supplementary lighting, including variable spectrum LEDs
- Insect-proof netted compartments and lockable zones for high-risk pest and pathogen research
- Outdoor facilities, such as hard-standing areas, polytunnels, and field space
- BREEAM award-winning conference Centre facilities
