NIAB's first open black-grass event for over five years with a tour of our new black-grass trials site at Hinxton, south of Cambridge, plus a round-up on NIAB's latest advice for black-grass management and control.
John Cussans (Weed Management Specialist, NIAB), Andrew Watson (Regional Agronomist, NIAB) and Joseph Martlew (Research Agronomist, NIAB) andJasper Kanomanyanga (PhD student in weed management) will lead tours of the site and will be available to discuss weed management strategies including:
- The importance of cultural controls measures for successful black-grass management
- The role of utilising herbicide mode of actions to improve weed control
- The factors that contribute to herbicide performance from a long-term dataset
- The future of weed control and how alternative tools and techniques will need to be integrated
