NIAB established its first research and demonstration vineyard at East Malling in 2015 to support a burgeoning vine and wine industry. Early work has involved variety and rootstock trials, weed control research and a demonstration of frost mitigation systems. With the development of a new research winery, the first of its kind in the UK, and the appointment of oenologist Dr Belinda Kemp, we are inviting grape growers and wine producers to this event to learn about our current work, future research, and research plans to support the industry through our NIAB Grape and Wine R&D Consortium.
