Farmer, grower, agromist or advisor? Share your knowledge on cropping options in The Centre for High Capture Cropping survey. We are seeking to understand the key requirements of growers when determining which crops to grow on their land.

This survey is part of the Centre for High Carbon Capture Cropping (CHCx3) project, a four-year, multi-partner project, spanning agriculture, industry, and academia, and led by NIAB. The survey is aimed specifically at farmers/growers, or their agronomists/advisors. It is seeking to better understand the key requirements of growers when determining which crops to grow on their land or as part of their rotations.

The research is focused on four cropping options and their associated tillage systems: rotational cover crops; annual fibre crops (industrial hemp, flax); perennial food, feed & forage crops (cereals, herbal leys); and perennial biomass crops (miscanthus, willow and poplar). Field trials are examining the effects of crop type and management on economic and environmental outcomes, with measurement of soil carbon and soil health for a range of cropping and tillage situations. Crop guides and other resources for growers will be made freely available.

You could win one of five £25 Amazon vouchers in the survey prize draw. To qualify, entrants must be a farmer/grower or agronomist/advisor, have answered all survey questions, and provided a valid email address at the end of the survey. Maximum of one entry per person. The deadline is Monday 15 January 2024.
