The HvFT3 gene has been shown by genome-wide association analysis to be associated with the trait, 'Plant: Growth Habit'. HvFT3 is the cadidate gene underlying the short-day photoperiod response locus, PPD-H2, with deletion of the HvFT3 gene associatied with delayed flowering under short-day photoperiods.
Note: this marker is a pseudo-SNP, assaying for the presence/absence of a region of the gene. Thus, a call of SNP C indicates the gene fragment is present. A call of 'missing' (called as a '?' in the image file) means the gene fragment is absent. Note: this assay is based on GenBank accession DQ411319
SNP C = present, associated with erect/semierect/intermediate (UPOV trait scores 1-5). SNP C = absent, associated with intermediate/semiprostrate/prostrate (UPOV trait scores 6-9).
Note: in the genotype data shown below, D = Deleted (ie a call of '?').
Note: when no DNA is present in a well, a call of '?' will also be made. Thus, final genotype call for a given accession using this assay should be based on more than 1 repetition of the assay. |
